Academic advising at Legacy Christian Academy supports high school students in discovering their strengths, setting purposeful goals, and navigating course selection, graduation requirements, and post-secondary planning. Our team partners with students and families to ensure each student is prepared academically, vocationally, personally, and spiritually for life beyond high school.

Hello Junior Girls and Families,
Distinguished Young Women is a national scholarship program which is a wonderful opportunity for our junior girls. Distinguished Young Women has a local program in Bakersfield for the class of 2027. DYW is only for junior girls. It’s a positive, uplifting program that highlights their strengths, academics and talents.
It’s also a great opportunity to meet other driven ladies in the community and have an opportunity to win scholarships for college!

Career Exploration
High Schoolers, are you interested in a career in healthcare? Adventist Health is offering a new program - LAUNCH (Learning and Understanding New Careers in Healthcare)—a new workforce development program designed to help students explore, prepare for, and imagine a future in healthcare.
LAUNCH offers students the opportunity to explore a wide range of healthcare careers through:
Hands-on learning and simulations
Mentorship and career exposure
Experiences across hospital and outpatient settings
Importantly, LAUNCH introduces students to both clinical and non-clinical career paths, helping them understand how an entire healthcare system works together.
Applications for the inaugural LAUNCH spring cohort are now open and will close January 31. But don’t fret. Additional application periods will open throughout the year. We’ll be taking on students on a rolling basis, so as spring spots fill up, another group of students will start in summer 2026.
Eligible applicants include:
High school students (age 16+)
Partnering with parents to disciple college-worthy Christ followers for a lifetime of leadership.
