IEW- Institute for Excellence in Writing (4-8th)
Enrichment 4 Weeks

Join us for some creative writing utilizing IEW structure and language. This course will reinforce IEW skills while having focused fun writing stories in a creative process. -
Health (High School)
Full Course 4 Weeks
Tues/Thurs ║ June 10-July 3 ║ 12:00pm-1:30pm
Health in Christian Perspective is a one-semester course requirement for all high school students. The course is presented in chapters:· Nutrition, physical fitness and personal hygiene
· Nervous system, mental disorders, mental health and biblical discernment
· Personal safety and environmental safety
· First aid and emergency preparedness
· Disease prevention in relation to immunology, infectious and non-infectious diseases, disabilities, systemic disease and disorders
· Preventive personal health care, making wise decisions, following biblical principles, and maintaining healthy attitudes.
· Abuse of drugs and medicines, negative effects of alcohol and tobacco

Math Course 2 (Grades 6-12) Prep
Prep Course 6 Weeks
Tues/Thurs ║ June 10-July 17 ║ 8:30am-10:00am
Legacy’s Math Course 2 Prep class is specifically designed for students who need additional reinforcement before entering Math Course 2. This course focuses on building a solid foundation through structured practice, review of key concepts, and targeted instruction. Students will develop greater confidence and readiness to succeed in Math Course 2 in the fall.
Course Goals:
· Strengthen understanding of the order of operations and integer concepts.
· Reinforce skills with operations involving positive and negative numbers.
· Build fluency in coordinate graphing and interpreting points on a plane.
· Prepare equations with distribution and practice solving one- and two-step equations, including those with fractions.
· Review proportions, percents, and geometric formulas.
· Develop essential problem-solving strategies for Course 2 readiness. -
Pre-Algebra Prep (Grades 6-12)
Prep Course 6 Weeks

Legacy’s Pre-Algebra Prep course is designed for students who would benefit from targeted review before beginning Pre-Algebra. This course provides structured support and guided instruction to help students strengthen foundational skills, address learning gaps, and increase confidence. The goal is to ensure students are fully prepared to meet the demands of Pre-Algebra in the fall.
Course Goals:
· Review operations with integers and coordinate graphing.
· Practice combining like terms, using the distributive property, and factoring.
· Solve multi-step equations with increased accuracy.
· Strengthen understanding of proportional relationships, percent equations, and rates.
· Apply geometric formulas and substitution with confidence.
· Build readiness for characteristics of linear equations, exponents, and square roots. -
Algebra I Prep (Grades 6-12)

The Algebra I Prep course is intended for students who need additional preparation before beginning Algebra I. Through focused review, skill reinforcement, and clear instructional strategies, students will address key areas of difficulty and develop the tools they need to succeed in Algebra I during the upcoming school year. Students should bring a Texas Instruments Ti-30XS Multi-View calculator to this summer class.Course Goals:
· Review multi-step equations, inequalities, and operations with fractions.
· Strengthen skills in simplifying expressions and solving literal equations.
· Build foundational understanding of functions, slope, and linear equations.
· Practice solving systems of equations with structured support.
· Graph linear equations from various given information.
· Introduce factoring and multiplying polynomials. -
Geometry Full Course (High School)
Full Course 8 Weeks
Tues/Wed/Thurs ║ June 10-July 31 ║ 8:30am-11:30am
This course is a study of Euclidean Geometry. Topics discussed include dimensional objects (lines, planes, polygons, circles, and polyhedrons), angular measurement, congruency, similarity, deductive and inductive reasoning, formal proofs, relational computations (perimeter, area, and volume), right triangle trigonometry, and practical applications. It also includes transformations and similarity along with coordinate geometry. Algebraic concepts and techniques are integrated and emphasized through the course to aid in the understanding of geometric concepts and applications, and to reinforce proficiency in algebraic skills.Parental Role: Co-Instructor and Guide for Dependent Study

Robotics (Grades 6-12)
Enrichment 3 Weeks
Tues/Wed/Thurs ║ June 10-June 26 ║ 8:30am-11:30am
Robotics is a fun class for motivated students and hands-on learners. In a flexible format, students learn about robotics and engineering problem solving. Over the course, students will work toward learning how to design and build a robot. Students are given an engineering challenge, and utilizing Vex Robotics components they will design and build a robot to play a sports-like game. Students work through the design of their robot, testing, deconstructing, and redesigning as needed. At the end of the course, students with completed robots will compete head-to-head with their classmates’ robots.

Morphology: A Study of Words (Grades 7-12)

Unlock the building blocks of language in this engaging class on word structure and meaning. Designed for junior high and high school students, Morphology: A Study of Words explores how words are formed, how they change, and how understanding their parts—prefixes, roots, and suffixes—can sharpen vocabulary, spelling, and reading comprehension. Through interactive lessons, word games, and creative challenges, students will deepen their understanding of language and build confidence in their communication skills.Course Goals:
· Introduce students to the structure and function of morphemes in the English language.
· Strengthen vocabulary through the study of roots, prefixes, and suffixes.
· Enhance spelling and decoding skills for unfamiliar words.
· Encourage analytical thinking by examining word origins and patterns.
· Foster an appreciation for the richness and history of language.

Creative Writing: Poetry and Songwriting (Grades 7-12)

Spark your middle or high school student's creative side with this four week course on how to write poetry and songs. From more formal poems, like the sonnet, to more informal poems, like a shape poem, this will cover a range of topics and styles. With engaging activities and fun experimentation, students will discover the art of writing poetry and songs.Course Goals:
· Identify different types of poetry, such as lyrical, sonnet, shape, haiku, etc.
· Engage different techniques, such as rhyme, meter, imagery, and others for writing poems and songs
· Write and refine poetry and songs according to a student's preference
· Experiment with different poetry types
