Legacy Christian Academy is a 5 day a week school, dedicated to Partnering with parents to disciple college-worthy Christ followers for a lifetime of leadership. Legacy Christian Academy is a dually accredited, non-profit, private, Christian, TK-12 University-Model® school which opened in Bakersfield, California in September of 2012.

We're excited to welcome Billy Hutchinson, M.Div. (Christian Apologetics), Director of Colson Educators at the Colson Center.
Before joining the Colson Center, Billy spent more than a decade serving in Christian education as both a teacher and administrator. Throughout his career, he has championed academic excellence, innovative digital learning, and the intentional development of a biblical worldview in both educators and students.
Billy is passionate about equipping Christians to think deeply, engage today's culture with wisdom, and faithfully live out their faith in every area of life. He and his family make their home in Huntsville, Alabama. Join us for an encouraging and thought-provoking time as Billy shares practical insights for living and leading with a Christ-centered worldview.

Legacy Christian Academy is a covenantal model, dedicated to the discipleship of Christian families and students. As a TK-12 private, Christian, University-Model® School, teachers and parents work together to provide an accessible, Christ-centered education for the next generation of Christ followers.
How we learn.
As a University-Model® school, Legacy Christian Academy takes the most positive aspects from public and private schools, as well as home schools, to give students a highly successful, college-worthy education. TK-12 Students attend classes 2-3 days per week and complete teacher prepared lesson plans in their home classroom. Home Study days are co-teacher led off campus through prepared lesson plans and Biblical worldview curriculum.

Legacy Christian Academy is a University-Model® School where teachers and parents work together to provide an affordable, Christ-centered education for the next generation.
In 2010, the founding families of LCA envisioned an educational alternative that would allow more time to spiritually train and build relationships with their children while providing a high level of academic excellence in their educational experience. Using the University-Model®, this vision can be accomplished through God’s power, prayer, and the hands and feet of many dedicated individuals.

Accreditation & Certification
Legacy Christian Academy’s certification is through NAUMS (National Association of University-Model® Schools). Founded in 2002, NAUMS promotes University-Model® schooling in the United States and assists existing and developing University-Model® Schools.
Legacy Christian Academy is dually accredited with Christian Schools International and Cognia.
University-Model® Schools International (UMSI) is a global family of Christian school communities pursuing a philosophy and system of education called the University-Model® (UM).
